The ColorEdge CG245W 24.1Widescreen LCD Display from EIZO is a high-quality monitor, built to the stringent standards required by pre-press, digital photography, video editing, and post production applications. The display features a 1920 x 1200native resolution, a stunning 850:1 contrast ratio, and 270cd/m² brightness.

It features DVI-I and DisplayPort inputs, both with HDCP support. The monitor is designed for use in environments where accurate color is essential. A calibration sensor is built into the top bezel of the display, allowing you to ensure proper calibration with ease -- and without the need for a 3rd party device. ColorNavigator software is included with the display.

You'll also be able to calibrate via the monitor's OSD, eliminating the need for calibration software altogether. The ColorEdge features factory calibrated gamma, brightness and color temperature stabilization, and an overdrive circuit for enhanced gray-to-gray response time. Color deficiency simulation, 10-bit simultaneous display support, and 16-bit internal processing round out the impressive features of the display.

The included hood can be used in landscape or portrait orientations. A built-in sensor is housed within the monitor's top bezel and swings down over the center top of the screen when calibration begins. This built-in sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and even operates in portrait mode.

Using either the OSD menu or the bundled ColorNavigator software, you can schedule the ColorEdge CG245W to self-calibrate at a specific time and at specific intervals. You can even schedule calibration for outside of work hours when your computer is turned off and you are no longer present.

Since the PC itself is not necessary for self-calibration, the ability to calibrate the monitor is not dependent on using an operating system supported by the ColorNavigator software. Therefore, a calibrated ColorEdge CG245W can be used with Linux even though ColorNavigator currently does not support this OS. Simple and Precise Calibration with ColorNavigator. The bundled ColorNavigator software makes calibration both simple and quick. Just input target values for brightness, white point, and gamma.

The built-in sensor directly utilizes the monitor's look-up table and creates an ICC profile within minutes. The monitor reproduces 98% of the Adobe RGB color space so it can display most colors in a digital photo taken in Adobe RGB mode. Furthermore, it also has an sRGB mode to accurately reproduce colors in this narrower but commonly used color space, such as those seen on web pages or digital photos taken in sRGB mode. Three Inputs Including Display Port.

Connect with up to three PCs via the monitor's dual DVI-I inputs which accept digital and analog signals, and the DisplayPort (digital) input terminals. With Display Port, the monitor can display 10-bit color which is more than 1 billion colors shown simultaneously. This is 64 times greater than the 16.7 million colors of 8-bit display. The result is even smoother color gradations and noticeably reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colors.

A graphics board and software which support 10-bit output are necessary for 10-bit display. Brightness and Color Uniformity with DUE. Fluctuations in brightness and chroma on different parts of the screen is a common trait of LCD monitors. To counteract EIZO a digital uniformity equalizer (DUE). DUE utilizes the monitor's12-bit look-up table (LUT) with an extensive palette of 4,081 grayscale tones for each R, G, and B, and internal calculation accuracy of 16-bits.

This ensures a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen. EIZO stands behind the quality of the ColorEdge series by including two verification documents with each monitor. One document verifies the uniformity on 25 points across the screen while the other certifies that all 256 color tones on the gamma curve were individually adjusted at the factory.

Brightness and Color Temperature Stability. To ensure proper display of color, the ColorEdge CG245W comes equipped with patented EIZO technology that stabilizes the monitor's brightness level after startup or coming out of power saving mode. Furthermore, a temperature sensor detects and automatically suppresses changes in color and brightness caused by fluctuations in the surrounding temperature. 3DLUT for Better Additive Color Mixture. The monitor utilizes a new EIZO-developed 3D LUT.

Whereas a typical 1D LUT adjusts color on separate tables for each red, green, and blue, a 3D LUT accomplishes this on a single, mixed-color cubic table. A 3D LUT improves the monitor's additive color mixture(combination of RGB), a key factor in its ability to display neutral gray tones. Ideal for Moving Image Work, Too. An overdrive circuit is included to reduce gray-to-gray response time to 5ms and ensure that moving images lookclean and sharp with an absolute minimum of blurring and ghosting. Shading Hood for Portrait and Landscape Modes. Most shading hoods can only be usedin landscape mode, but the ColorEdge CG245W comes bundled with a unique shading hood that is designed for portrait mode as well. Now you can keep the glare off your screen no matter which mode you work in. The ColorEdge CG245W comes with a"FlexStand" that offers tilt, swivel, 90° rotation for portrait mode viewing, and 6.2 (15.7cm) of height adjustment. Its innovative, bearing-less design reduces mechanical wear and the amount of torque required to adjust height. To avoid creating inconveniences and even dangers for those with color vision deficiency, care must be taken when choosing color schemes for everyday items such as maps, road signs, web sites, and power indicator lights. This monitor can instantly simulate how still and moving images appear to people with two types of red-green (protanopia and deuteranopia) and one type of blue-yellow (tritanopia) color vision deficiency.

LED Buttons and On-Screen Button Guide. For dimly lit work environments, the LED front buttons can be backlight to seven different brightness settings.
